AP Sample Rhetorical Analysis Essay
AP Sample Rhetorical Analysis EssayIn order to do an AP sample rhetorical analysis essay, you need to first prepare a definition of rhetorical analysis. What is it?It is a form of communication in which two (or more) speakers articulate their thoughts, ideas, and concepts using a pre-arranged vocabulary. A sample rhetorical analysis essay is a discussion of a political speech. It is one of the most common forms of academic writing. It is often used as a test of students' writing skills. To help make your AP course easier, you can study rhetorical analysis using the AP sample rhetorical analysis essay. You will use several examples of rhetorical analysis. However, the main idea of the analysis should be the basic premise that the point of the essay should be stated clearly in the first paragraph. The essay should be very short so as not to bore the reader and should not be lengthy because then the reader might get lost in the content.A teacher may also ask you to write an essay on the other side of a political or social issue. If your thesis is about an economic issue, you will have to write an analysis of an economic issue. If your thesis is about social issues, such as gender or sexuality, you will have to write an analysis of gender or sexuality. This essay is often used in political speeches to show the speaker's reasoning for supporting or opposing the party line. It is not considered necessary to include an argument in a rhetorical analysis essay because in these situations the writer can emphasize the benefits or consequences of an issue. These benefits or consequences should be presented through the framing of one or more stories or metaphors that portray the issue in a favorable light. For example, in this AP course on The Political Philosophy of John Locke, students will write essays on What The Phrase 'Locke's Consent' Means? and An Example of an Argument From Authority. These questions give students an opportunity to focus on their knowledge of Locke's political philosophy and also to apply their knowledge of rhetoric and critical analysis to the essay. To be able to effectively write an AP sample rhetorical analysis, you should plan to spend as much time studying the topic as possible. One way to do this is to look for related assignments at your college or university library. If you find yourself stuck on a particular argument or idea, you can also write a persuasive essay. Though persuasive essay is not an AP course requirement, a persuasive essay is a good way to help you improve your writing skills, both in the AP sample rhetorical analysis essay and in a persuasive essay.

Color Purple Essays (673 words) - The Color Purple, Alice Walker
Color Purple Historical: The Historical approach applies to this novel because it is based on a time period that I have not lived through. Alice Walker wrote this book in the format of how the people spoke in the 1900s Walker herself termed her writing as "Black Folks English." During the time that Walker wrote this novel there where so many things going on have to do with the Civil Rights movement and women fighting for their right. This book pin points the life of women showing, womens struggle for freedom in a society where they are viewed as inferior to men. That fact that Walker has lived through the fight for equal rights impacted her writing and can be show in how she portrays Sofia in this book. During Walkers life the equal treatment of opposite sexes was an important issue in her life and is one of the primary elements in The Color Purple. If the reader has never studied this period of time there is no way that this books can be understood because its struggled portray a time that women have hardly any rights. The Supreme Court did not start giving equal rights until the 1970s, while Walker was in her early 30s. Throughout the book Sofia and Harpo fought for equality in their marriage obviously showing that this had some kind of effect on the writers life Biographical: Alice Walkers writings in this novel were greatly influenced by the historical happenings around her during the 1950s-1980s. Born in Georgia in 1944, Walker used her same environment that she grew up as the placement for the Color Purple. Walker later experienced a tragic accident affecting her ability to see, opening her eyes to the cruel dealing of people. She begin to see things that she never saw before and this is also shown throughout the book. To comprehend Walkers writing you have to somewhat know what was going on in this time period because it effects the way she portrays the characters lifes on a day today basis in the book. Sit ins, freedom rides, boycotts, and other heated demonstrations were very common at the time. Violence was widespread as well in society. Martin Luther King was one of Walkers biggest influences, so much so that she even attended his I Have a Dream speech in 1963. In 1968 King was gunned down on the balcony of a motel and this struck Walkers view on life again. This is easily shown in the book and how she describes things in the Color Purple, such as the racial prejudiced society Celie lived in. Gender: Throughout this Walker demonstrates three different types of gender approaches with the three main women of the story. Celie was looked at as a week women that women that no man wants. She was criticized for her appearance, and sexual relations, and was forced to marry Mr. in an institutional marriage. Sofia was the untraditional women looked at as kind of rebellious. She was looked at as controlling and demanding, and was looked down upon for not being submissive to her husband or her husband Harpo's definition of the traditional female role. Finally, Shug Avery was the ultimate feminist symbol. She was the woman that every women wanted to be in this time. She walked to her own drum and but was not overly dominate in this time. Walker does not hide the ruthless realities that Black woman had to, or still have to suffer. She does not hide from this reality in any way nor does she shy away and try to paint a softer picture. In the first pages of the Color Purple she shows the severity of the injustice that women have to go through even still today. She goes into detail of children being raped and women being sold and abused. This book showed to the extreme how women were looked at as just objects of the house meant to cook, clean, and mother children. The sealing of Celia proves pin points this.

Competitive Strategies Apple and Microsoft
Competitive Strategies Apple and Microsoft Introduction Apple Inc. was initially referred to as Apple Computer, Inc. According to the Fortune Magazine, Apple was United Statesââ¬â¢ most admirable company in 2008. Beginning from 2008 to 2012, Apple was the worldââ¬â¢s most admirable company. Microsoft deals with the sale of personal computers and software. Differences between Corporate Culture in Apple and Microsoft The key difference in the corporate culture practised at Microsoft and Apple is secrecy. Appleââ¬â¢s fans rely on the companyââ¬â¢s rumour sites for speculations regarding the launch of novel products. Apple hardly displays its products before they are ready f or shipping. On the contrary, Microsoft provides sneak product previews long before the products are launched. This is partially as a result of the corporate culture at Microsoft. In addition, the company has a wide array of enterprise customers and vendors who require arranging software appraisal ideas. Apple invests in an exceptionally hardnosed corporate culture. This is a mystery that all global business executives desire to comprehend (Oââ¬â¢Regan, 2012). The culture is founded on the concept that employees with a self- drive deliver more as opposed to cases where there are managers at every department. The organizational structure at the company was almost unpopular and purposed at allowing people working in the fields to make decisions. Apple is admired for its delightful but intricate technologies. However, it is worth noting that the companyââ¬â¢s environment is termed as unforgiving and brutal. In regard to this, there is a strict adherence to accountability, swift d ecisions, and perfect articulation of communication. Every meeting is guided by an action list and every employee knows their supervisor. The weekly meetings aim at promoting a responsible culture.Advertising Looking for research paper on computer science? Let's see if we can help you! In addition, articles from the companyââ¬â¢s magazines are also available. Individuals and companies are offered subscriptions by the MSDN. Expensive subscriptions allow access to beta software versions (Lee Yu, 2004). In 2004, the company initiated a community site, which was meant for users and developers. The site was referred to as Channel9 and it offered an internet debate and wiki. The On10.net site offers daily video casts in addition to other services. Helpful individuals can be selected by the companyââ¬â¢s employees or peers for the MVP (Microsoft Most Valuable Professional) status. People in this group possess a unique social status and can receive awards and benefits. At Microsoft, the phrase ââ¬Å"eating our own dog foodâ⬠refers to the policy of utilising beta versions and preleases when testing products in real circumstances. The companyââ¬â¢s hiring process is exceptionally unique and imitated by other companies, which dub it as the ââ¬Å"Microsoft interview.â⬠The company is marked as notorious for denying the H1B visas that permitted US companies to recruit particular foreign workers (Jones, 2010). Microsoft argues that employing foreign workers at lower salaries will result to unemployment among the US citizens. Ways in which each unique culture ensures positive competition In the case of Apple, a culturally responsible workplace ensures that employees enjoy their roles. In addition, every employee knows who should address their issues. As such, employees possess an excepti onally high level of self- drive. Consequently, this increases every employeeââ¬â¢s output. This is a factor that promotes positive competition. Employees at Apple value their company, offer diverse ideas on novel technologies and developments, and advise on how to curb competition. This ensures that the company produces unique products and uses unique marketing strategies, which enlarges the companyââ¬â¢s market share (Flamholtz, 1995). On the other hand, Microsoft hugely invests in the opinions and ideas from funs, customers, and employees. As stated earlier, the company has several newsgroups and online debate sites where various individuals can offer their opinions. Through this, the company gains innovative ideas and a wide knowledge base. Consequently, the company uses this feedback to better their products.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Competitive Strategies: Apple and Microsoft specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More How each company would thrive if the present corporate culture was changed At Apple, the employees are guided by the CEOââ¬â¢s authority. In this regard, it is worth noting that the two companies use different leadership styles. For instance, at Apple, the Head of Design can speak on behalf of the CEO. Design is an extremely vital priority at the company. On the contrary, Microsoft relies on negotiation. It is all about supporting individuals and companies who support their features. In my view, irrespective of the excellent negotiation skills at Microsoft, there is need for a style of leadership where the leader has the overall say. This ensures some form of control (Want, 2006). It is worth pointing out that Microsoft possesses exceptionally brilliant individuals and is extremely successful. Apple Company should retain their simplicity, specialization, and the culture of concentrating on a few accomplishments at a time. Apple should engage in restructuring strategies so as to be able to control its finances and operations, which will ensure its competitiveness. References Flamholtz, E. (1995). Characteristics of the Modern Bureaucracy Coursework
Characteristics of the Modern Bureaucracy - Coursework Example The administration includes all state functional organs, and it is quite significant influencing the vast portion of the society in the modern world (Scheidel, 2014). Bureaucracy has several roles in the public life since it keeps the government functional. It affects the implementation of law and policies made by elected officials within the government. It also provides the necessary administrative functions like collecting fees, issuing permits and licenses. Bureaucratic administration conducts government operations by regulating the various performances of state organs (Findly, 2014). Since the bureaucracy deals closely with the governmental issues, it would not be easier to hire and stop the civil servants according to their performance in their duties. It is mainly because the bureaucratic workers need specialized training, which cost the government a lot of money to sponsor and maintain. The high performing civil servants should get the merit-based compensation like their counterparts in the private sector since they have skills and experience to deliver well. The private sector consists of privately owned organizations that are not part of the government such as the non-profit and profit corporations. The public sector consists of government-owned institutions like the federal, provincial, state, or municipal governments. In the private sector, there is greater fluidity in job changing and flexibility in pay rise than in the public sector that is its importance over the public sector (Eyben & Moncrieffe,

Ideology And International Relations In The Modern World Case Study
Ideology And International Relations In The Modern World - Case Study Example The inter-reactions between other countries are only for settling disputes between themselves, but at the same time, the main question to be kept in mind is the choice of the monarch. There are many other factors which should influence the decisions of individual countries, but all countries want to be independent first and effective for the improvement of a lot of their people and other people afterward. Till a few years back, there were two powers with one situated in Washington and the other in Moscow and they could not afford to fight with each other. This led them to battles in absentia in the Third World and those were among the countries that were supported by one of the two superpowers. This led to conflicts among the two for the political allegiance of Asians, Africans, or Latin Americans. This was the method of promotion of the two so-called ideologies - capitalism or communism. The only possible alternative, which existed in places where these conflicts were not desired, w as the Cold War. (Cassels, 1996, p. 207) Yet the development or reactions of countries were dependants not on their benefits, but the desire of the two leaders. Today, the conflict of the state has deteriorated further and all are based on constitutions which define the political authorities of the country, or the countries within the area. These consist of states, countries dependant on other states and even international organizations some of whom are even for the commercial benefit of groups of shareholders. It is they who control trade, control the flow of money and investment within the area, invade other countries within the area, ally with some groups for the benefit of their masters, intervene in the ongoing civil conflicts within other states, etc.

Feedback Stress: Does Auditory Feedback Negatively Affect Performance o
In his historic study, Stroop found that reading names of colors interfered with individualsââ¬â¢ ability to name the ink color the word was printed in when the two differed (i.e., the word ââ¬Å"BLUEâ⬠written in red ink) (1935). However, the basis of this phenomenon can be traced back to Cattell who found that naming colors and pictures took twice as long to accomplish than reading the word these colors or pictures represented (1886). He concluded that this was due to reading being an automatic process while identifying colors or pictures requires a conscious effort (Cattell, 1886). MacLeod (1991) reflects that it was Cattellââ¬â¢s work which strongly influenced future psychologist including Stroop. In his experiment, Stroop investigated how the reaction time to name colors increased when it conflicted with the automatic process of reading. He broke down his experiment into three parts. In the first, he tested how reading the name of a color printed in a different ink color (i.e., BLUE) differed from reading the name of a color printed in black ink (i.e., BLUE). The difference between the name of the color and the ink color it was printed in caused a slight interference resulting in an increased reaction time of 2.3 seconds (Stroop, 1935). In the second part of his experiment, Stroop (1935) looked at reaction time differences between naming the color of solid blocks (i.e., ââ" ââ" ââ" ââ" ââ" ) versus naming the color of the ink not the name of the color (i.e., responding ââ¬Å"REDâ⬠for BLUE). He found that participants required 74% more time to name the color of the ink when it did not agree with the name of the color (Stroop, 1935). Stroop concluded that it was the interference between the automatic process of reading the names of the colored w... ...oop: An interference task specialized for functional neuroimaging ââ¬â validation study with functional MRI.
